That series had so many brutal deaths in it. what disturbed me the most was in one book one of the enemy aliens possessed one of the main characters(jake) and was constantly torturing him reminding him how he practically killed his brother and was using his memories against his friends to trick them while controlling his body and he could do nothing but scream within his own mind begging the yerk to stop. and the whole series just ends with you not knowing if the earth ever gets saved.

Ohhhhhhh I remember this one witches and of course Ms. Irvin a remake. I kinda like how the Grand High Witch and the Grandma's enmity looks more personal in this version, like the two are arch-enemies rather than Grandma just wanting to take her out 'cause she's the Witch's head honcho. That's a cool angle. I also like that one effect where the lightning flashes to reveal the GHW's true form in the mirror (though something tells me it won't measure up to her true form from the 90s film in terms of sheer terror. The fact that the trailer comes off as so goofy, however, doesn't sit right with me- I haven't read the book myself, at least not yet, but I've heard it's freaking terrifying and also a little depressing. The Grand High Witch making such a rookie villain mistake as loudly announcing HE'LL EXTERMINATE THOSE BRATS! and the weird Chris Rock narration don't mesh well with that.
